Spreading Kindness, Building Confidence, One Act at a Time

Three Divisions. One Mission.

The Kindness Unit works like a positive kid-powered task force built to help children feel safe, seen, and strong. Every division supports a different part of our mission: kindness, courage, and confidence.

Division 01: Kindness Missions

  • Simple missions kids can do anywhere to make someone feel valued.
  • Weekly challenges for home, school, and sports teams.
  • Printables, cards, and ideas that spark small acts with big impact.

Division 02: Stand Up, Speak Up

  • Tools that help kids recognize and respond to bullying.
  • Guides for kids, parents, and teachers that show what to do and who to tell.
  • The Kindness and Courage Pledge for classrooms and families.

Division 03: Brave on the Mat

  • Jiu-Jitsu used as a tool for inner strength.
  • Focus on safety, respect, calm, and confidence.
  • Skills that help kids stay grounded when life feels overwhelming.

Mission Briefing: Nevaeh’s Why

Nevaeh has seen what happens when kids feel left out, picked on, or unsure of themselves. She has also learned how strong and brave she can be on the Jiu-Jitsu mat. The Kindness Unit is her way of bringing those two worlds together.

Through kindness missions, anti-bullying tools, and confidence-building Jiu-Jitsu, she invites other kids to join a unit of everyday heroes who choose courage and kindness, even when it’s hard. The vision is simple: no kid should ever feel alone, unsafe, or powerless. With the right support, kids can become leaders in their classrooms, schools, and communities.

Meet Nevaeh Solbos

Founder and Kid Commander, The Kindness Unit
Platform: Kindness • Anti-Bullying • Jiu-Jitsu for Confidence

Nevaeh believes every kid deserves to feel safe, brave, and valued. She started The Kindness Unit after seeing how small acts can change someone’s day and how Jiu-Jitsu can change how a kid sees themselves. Her goal is to help other kids feel the same confidence she found on the mat and the same joy she feels when she helps someone.

At school, Nevaeh is known for spreading kindness. In the dojo, she trains with focus and courage. Through The Kindness Unit, she brings both worlds together with a clear mission: teach kids to be strong, speak up, and support others. Her platform is simple but powerful: kindness matters, courage is contagious, and confidence is something every kid can build.

The Kindness Unit is a kid-led, parent-supported initiative focused on kindness, anti-bullying, and Jiu-Jitsu as tools for confidence. It helps kids feel safe, brave, and valued through simple missions, resources, and confidence-building activities.

The Kindness Unit was founded by Nevaeh Solbos, a 9-year-old who has experienced both the power of kindness and the confidence that comes from Jiu-Jitsu. She created the unit to help other kids feel strong and supported.

The Kindness Unit is built around three divisions:
Kindness Missions simple acts kids can do anywhere.
Stand Up, Speak Up anti-bullying tools for kids, parents, and teachers.
Brave on the Mat Jiu-Jitsu-inspired confidence and calm under pressure.

The program is designed for kids ages 5–12, with tools and resources that are easy for families and classrooms to use.

Not at all. Jiu-Jitsu is used as a confidence-building example. Kids can join the Kindness Unit with or without martial arts experience.

It’s a simple promise kids can take to choose kindness, speak up when they see bullying, and support others who feel alone. Many classrooms use it as a daily or weekly reminder.
